Each year, on 11 February, CERN celebrates the International Day of Women and Girls in Science by shedding light on the variety of career paths for women in STEM. This year, we asked nine female scientists to share their stories with us and tell us what inspired them to pursue a STEM career and what are their favourite memories involving science. Meet more women in science at CERN during your visit to Science Gateway every day, and especially on 11 February

CERN is closed to visitors on 6 and 7 January due to electrical tests and on 8 January like every Monday. We look forward to welcoming you as from Tuesday 9 January.
Thomas Deshusses (thomaslego.ch) used LEGO bricks to build the model of CERN Science Gateway, which is on display in the reception area, as part of his Maturité project (personal project for the end of his Swiss secondary education).
With 30,000 pieces, a year of design and over 250 hours of assembly, it is a work of art in its own right.
