Step into the shoes of CERN scientists

Your mission: follow their trail and uncover the secrets of our Universe. From the Big Bang to the high-energy collisions taking place deep beneath the Earth's surface, each clue will bring you closer to understanding the origins of everything around us. Stay curious, observe carefully, and trust your instincts… the Universe does not reveal its mysteries easily.

At CERN Science Gateway, you will meet our guides: scientists, engineers, and other CERN employees who help make our work possible. Representing more than 75 nationalities, they lead tours, facilitate lab workshops, and engage with visitors throughout our exhibitions in over 30 languages. Meet the people who make the science happen, in the place where it happens.

Space, mountains, oceans: Science at the frontiers of exploration

Awaken your inner explorer at CERN’s summer science festival, blending inspiring talks, hands-on and fun activities for all ages and live music under the stars.

CERN Science Gateway has received a Special Commendation at the European Museum of the Year Awards (EMYA) ceremony held in Bilbao, Spain, on 13 June 2026. The EMYA jury mentioned that "The CERN Science Gateway fosters a passion for knowledge and discovery by inspiring future scientists, engineers, and critical thinkers. In doing so, it strengthens scientific literacy and curiosity across borders, making the new science centre and museum an outstanding example of public engagement with science".

CERN will host the second stage of the 2026 Tour du Canton de Genève. The 8,9 km race is open to all and will start by the Science Gateway before taking in the Swiss countryside up to Mategnin, and then returning to CERN for the finish.

The 15th edition of the CineGlobe Festival will take place from June 5 to 7, 2026 at CERN.

CineGlobe offers a unique meeting point between cinema, science, and immersive experiences around this year’s theme: Transitions.

Throughout the weekend, CineGlobe invites audiences of all ages to discover a rich and interdisciplinary program combining film screenings, live performances, workshops, and virtual reality installations.

The G7 Summit will take place in Évian-les-Bains from 15 to 17 June 2026. The organization of this event may affect mobility but also other services in the Geneva region, in particular:

On Saturday, May 30, from 6:00 PM onwards, dive into the marathon that is the Museum Night 2026! For one evening, 29 cultural, scientific, and artistic venues across Geneva will open their doors, including the CERN Science Gateway.

On the programme: interactive games, hands-on workshops, live performances, and engaging screenings, all centred around CERN science and far beyond.
