Dance with Evolution

DAE

An artistic meeting between physics, life sciences and contemporary dance.

On November 19th at 7:30 p.m., CERN's Science Gateway invites you to Dance with Evolution. The show blends contemporary dance with physics and life sciences. This bold performance, directed by choreographer Michel Hallet Eghayan and inspired by the captivating stories of paleoanthropologist Pascal Picq, will take you back to the origins of humanity.

Like the messengers of time, the dancers embody the slow metamorphosis of hominids into humans. Each movement tells a story, from bipedalism to the dawn of consciousness and the silent struggles of our ancestors.

The journey continues with an audiovisual experience that invites guests to explore the mysteries of the Universe and establish connections between our evolution and that of the cosmos.

After the performance, Pascal Picq and the physicist Leïla Haegel will discuss the links between humanity and the Universe, inviting us to reflect on our place in this vast web of life.

Free event, registration required by clicking here.

In parallel with the show, we are offering dance workshops for children aged 8 to 12, inspired by Dancing with Evolution and the exhibition Curious Connections: The Museum Comes to CERN. These workshops will take place on November 20th, at 2:00 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. in French, at the CERN Science Gateway, and entry is free.
