There was a time when you had to choose between buying a souvenir and making a donation to a good cause. But now you can do both. In the CERN shop, you can buy an authentic LHC data tape and support young talent all in one go. In 2012, the LHC experiments stored data on tapes like this during their search for the Higgs boson. Now, these authentic tapes are available as souvenirs in the CERN shop for a contribution of 10 CHF or more. 100% of your donation will directly support projects funded by the CERN & Society Foundation. Each tape is unique and contains 30 minutes of data taking from around 600’000 proton-proton collision events at 8 TeV, perhaps even a Higgs boson event. So, what are you waiting for? Don't forget your LHC tape and make a difference today.

Legacy one-terabyte tapes have a length of 917 meters, a thickness of 6.5 micrometres.
